- Environment & Sustainability
We are committed to responsible environmental stewardship across all shipyard operations, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, resource efficiency, pollution prevention, and continuous performance monitoring, aligned with recognized ESG and sustainability principles.
Key Environmental Practices
Water Stewardship & Marine Protection:
Contaminated wash water is treated through the Shipyard’s dedicated treatment plant and verified by independent testing. Cooling and marine waters are monitored monthly in line with CTO requirements.
Waste Management & Circular Economy
Spent blasting grit is recycled and reused where feasible, with non‑reusable grit sustainably managed by licensed establishments. Scrap metal and batteries are recovered through controlled tender processes. Waste is segregated at source and processed via approved waste‑management facilities.
Energy & Resource Efficiency
The shipyard has upgraded to energy‑efficient welding machines and LED lighting, reducing electricity consumption while maintaining operational performance. Power factor is regularly monitored across substations, in line with Kahramaa requirements
Environmental Monitoring & Governance
Regular monitoring of marine water, air quality, and noise levels is conducted, with results reported to the relevant authorities. Environmental audits, inspections, and awareness programs support continuous improvement and accountability.
